Since the intention of this podcast is to help you build balance into your everyday life, I wanted to take a moment to think about the purpose behind one of my favorite systems. Weekly Prep is one of my favorite things to discuss on the show. It’s a habit that has allowed me so much freedom and breathing room throughout the week, and I know it will change your life too. Beyond just giving you the practical steps for weekly prep, I also wanted to challenge your perspective on it.
Perspective is all about reinforcing our intentions. If intention is the action you take, perspective is the purpose behind it. Let’s approach Weekly Prep with a renewed perspective together today, knowing that it is not magic, but a system to help you in your pursuit of balance. It is also a discipline, but as you develop the habit, you are managing the chaos. When I don’t do my Prep, my weeks are often more stressful.
My original plan this week was to talk about personal development, but I had to listen to God’s prompting as I planned this episode. Ultimately, God is the first and most important pillar of a balanced life. He has called us to his standard of living, so when we dive into Weekly Prep together, let’s remember what He has spoken to us in love.
Let’s check in with our purpose today. I don’t complete my Weekly Prep to make my life easier, although it does most of the time! In fact, it’s not about me at all. As I plan my week, I use the system as an opportunity to remind my husband and my children that I am serving and caring for them. Think about it as a way to speak into the lives of the people you love. It’s a way to say, “I’ve got your back!”
